iOS 4.0 RELEASED!!!!!! OMG

Hi guys,

Even as I’m writing this post, my iPod is getting jailbroken, with the latest 4.0 firmware!!

woah that was scary. my ipod got stuck in a black screen half way through the jailbreak, and I had to redo the whole DFU mode thing.

it’s working fine now i think.

because of the major firmware update from the 2.x to 3.x, half the tutorials on this web NO LONGER WORK!!!! since i really have no heart to update all the information, ill just tell you here:

the MI patch no longer works, you need AppSync from hackulo.us

some apps no longer work, while other cool ones have popped up.

Lately, I haven’t got much time to play around on my iPod, but I’ve finally got wifi. Because this blog was previously devoted to those who (most regrettably and unfortunately) dont have wifi, several things will now be changing…

As you might have noticed, Ive spent hours and hours trying to find a work-around to do stuff that required wifi (eg downloading cydia apps) . Now I just cant be bothered.

So, plainly, there is no more point in continuing this blog (except for the benefit of those who DONT have wifi…). I’ll still be updating occasionally and answer some questions

The post title says it’s under maintenance, but certain intelligence (i.e. me) has informed me that this blog is still longer operational. The owner and maintainer (i.e. me) is currently just too busy to answer any more questions and post more posts. You’re free to browse through this blog and the (incredibly well tested, interesting and accurate) information on it, but questions posted will (unfortunately) be unanswered, and remain unanswered (unless someone is kind enough to answer it for me). Jailbroken iPod touch 2g 3.0!

the day has come (actually it came yesterday) but I’ve managed to jailbreak my ipod touch 2g 3.0! yay. Posting a tutorial ASAP.

It was sweet. Bluetooth, incredible speed and everything. Best of all… it was FREE!

Top Winterboard themes

Okay, I cant be bothered to make a new page for this, but recently, I have re-evaluated the top cydia themes around. Seeing as alot of people want ideas for winterboard, I’ll just post this list with 7 of the top Winterboard themes:

#1: I have to say, the winner is the iNav theme. I downloaded it, had a quick play with it, and I decided this will be my permanent theme. [Note, I'm using the iNav Mactheme or whatever.] I’ll try and get a screen shot up. It’s confusing to install, and I’ll get a tutorial of how to do it someday. Anyway, iNav is just COOL 8)

#2: Vending Machine: dude, this is so cool. Before I used iNav, this was my favourite. It’s really cool with all your icons turned into some sort of food from a normal vernder. I suggest you use this with the “Dim icons” on winterboard, because the icons that haven’t been changed look weird sticking in front of the vending “arm”. Dimming it makes it semi-transparent, and not so lame.

#3: iWood Realize: rustic, old, and cool. One of the best themes with ‘shelves’. [note: all themes with Realize in them have the same icons. And they are all awesome!! I love them...]

#4: iSexy Realize: strange name, cause the title has nothing to do with the actuall theme. It has a backgroung of an aurora, looks pretty cool with the icons. [I love the cosmc background.]

#5: Fluorine: horrible icons, awseome concept, very furturistic. [The icons are all the same, and are horrible in my opinion]. However, it deserved a place in this list, cause it changes basically everything in your iDevice: Keyboard, Numberboard, Loading picture, and all the system images, as well as giving the system apps a cool look as it loads. Very nice.

#6: Glasskart: great for use with userbackground, for all you who love showing of your background. Nice transparent icons.

#7: Brilliant theme: great metal-framed icons. Used it before I found Vending Machine.

NOTE: all these themes can be found in Cydia or Cyder (desktop wifi-less Cydia, see my tutorial) EXCEPT for iNav, which I’ll hopefully show you some screenshots, and an intallation tutorial.
